Rajibpur Press Club Forms Full 25-Member Executive Committee

A new 25-member executive committee has been formed for the Rajibpur Press Club in Kurigram. The committee was announced during a meeting held on Tuesday (December 30) evening at the Rajibpur Dak Bungalow, and it was officially approved the following day.
In the newly formed committee, Md. Sahijal Islam (Sojal), Rajibpur correspondent of Dainik Manabkantha, was unanimously elected as president, while Md. Zahidul Islam (Zahid), representative of Dhaka Prakash, was elected general secretary.
The meeting was chaired by Aminur Rahman (Master), a founding member and senior journalist of the Rajibpur Press Club. It was announced that the term of the 2025 executive committee had officially ended on December 29, 2025, and the committee was formally dissolved. Based on the opinions of the attending journalists, a new executive committee for 2026 was formed.
The newly formed committee includes the following vice presidents: Md. Rafiqul Islam, C. Vice President (Amar Sangbad), Md. Shariful Islam (Dainik Protidin-er Sangbad), Md. Habibur Rahman Al Habib (Bangladesh Times), Md. Maidul Islam (Dainik Nagorik Sangbad), and Md. Rafiqul Islam (Bangladesh Samachar).
Md. Zahidul Islam (Dhaka Prakash) will serve as general secretary, with Sujan Mahmud (Dainik Khola Kagoj) as joint general secretary. Md. Hamidul Islam (Sumon) (Dainik Borer Chhetna) was elected as assistant joint general secretary.

The executive members include Md. Shahadat Hossain Hiro (Alokito Protidin), Md. Sajib Mahmud (Nirbhik TV), Md. Sanaullah Sarkar (Morning Post), Md. Golam Mostofa (Dainik Amar Kotha), Md. Monwar Hossain (Kurigram Sangbad), Md. Kamrul Hasan (Monojog Prokash – Special), Mohammad Habib (Prothom Khobor), and Md. Rakibul Islam (Boro) (Dainik Nobodigonto Dak).
Speakers at the meeting emphasized that the Rajibpur Press Club has played a vital role in protecting the rights of local journalists, promoting professional development, and upholding impartial journalism. They expressed hope that the newly formed committee will work unitedly to strengthen and energize journalism in Rajibpur.
The newly elected president and general secretary expressed their gratitude to all attending journalists and pledged to work sincerely to develop the Rajibpur Press Club into a responsible, transparent, and active organization.
