Chief Adviser Pays Tribute at the National Martyrs’ Memorial on Victory Day

On the occasion of the Great Victory Day, the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, paid deep respect to the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs’ Memorial.
On Tuesday (December 16) at 6:57 am, he placed a wreath at the National Martyrs’ Memorial. He then stood in solemn silence for a while, remembering the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the great Liberation War of 1971.
During the tribute, a smartly turned-out contingent formed by the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force presented a state salute to the Chief Adviser. Through this dignified ceremony, the state paid homage to the spirit of the Liberation War and the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs.
Earlier the same morning, at 6:33 am, President Md. Sahabuddin paid tribute to the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs’ Memorial. By placing a wreath, he expressed the nation’s gratitude and respect to the brave sons of the soil.
Meanwhile, marking the 55th anniversary of Victory, the capital Dhaka has been adorned in colorful decorations. From Monday evening (December 15), the entire city began to glow with red-and-green illuminations. Government and private buildings, roads, and key installations have been lit up, creating a festive atmosphere. The vibrant illuminations have captivated city residents, further enhancing the joy and pride of the Great Victory Day.
