BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed regret over a statement he made at a meeting in Nayapaltan, Dhaka.

In a statement sent to the media on Saturday night, he said, “A video featuring the use of the RTV logo and a statement by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner went viral on social media, along with footage showing a suspect involved in the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi having tea with DUCSU VP. Both of these items were baseless and AI-generated.”

He added, “Without conducting a fact-check, I referred to these two items in a speech today at a meeting in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan. I sincerely apologize for this unintentional false statement.”
